Dear whoever opens this,
The helmet is not regulation and I am aware of that. Nobody has taken it from me. I have come to believe that nobody wants to be the one who tries.
It holds up. Rain does not get through it. In August it began to smell and the men stopped standing near me, which improved my working conditions considerably.
They keep asking what I am doing here. I have been asking the same question since March and nobody further up has written back to me about it.
Evenings are quiet enough. There is a lamp, there is tea, and there are biscuits that have been described to me as edible. All three are worse than they sound and I would like all three again tomorrow.
If this reaches anyone at all, I am fine. I would not describe the situation as good, but I would describe myself as fine, and I have thought about the difference more than is useful.
